At Burton End Primary Academy, we know that in order to learn, our children need to feel safe, secure and happy. We are lucky enough to have Mrs Helen Burton in school as our Community Wellbeing Champion and trained ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant). She is supported by Laura Talbot who is also ELSA trained.
The ELSA team runs individual and group sessions with the children and covers topics such a bereavement, self esteem and family issues.
Please take a look at the resources section for more information about our ELSA support.
The Beach room is used to support our most vulnerable children who have experienced more severe trauma or need more in depth support in the afternoons. It is used in the mornings for completing various assessments, meeting with parents, parenting sessions and courses.
The Rockpool is for supporting children who need to pop in for a short while and for ELSA sessions.
