Dear Parent and Carers

We have now been back for a whole week and the children are settling back into the school routine. It has been lovely to see how engaged they all are in their lessons as I walk around the school.

I would like to say a great big thank you to all those parents who attended the Parent Information Meetings. They were a great success and I think it was important that all parents had the opportunity to hear about the expectations of their new year group. Parents were shown the new Home School Learning Logs which have replaced the old reading records. If you have not seen them please ask your child to show you this weekend.

Next Friday, the 19th September, we are taking part in Jeans for Genes day.

1 in 25 children has a genetic disorder that makes their life very difficult. That’s one in every class. By wearing our jeans and donating, we can help change the lives of these children

All children and staff are invited to wear their jeans and trainers on their bottom half but normal uniform on the top half to help Jeans for Genes Day reach its target of £2million. We’d like everyone to take part so please send your child into school on the Day wearing their jeans and with a £1 donation.

I look forward to meeting with parents of Reception children next Tuesday 16th September at their Parent Information Meeting.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Vosper

End of the school day

Please ensure that an adult picks up children from Reception, year 1 and year 2 classes. Please let the class teacher know in advance if an adult other than yourself will be picking up your child. If you need to make alternative arrangement in an emergency please telephone the school office.

Another successful event from the Friends of Burton End!

A great time was had by all last Saturday at the Summer Fair despite the inclement weather.

Staff and parents all worked hard to make sure the showery weather did not stop the fair taking place.  Some stalls were moved inside to the hall while other events took place outside.  Thank you so much to all who came and shared in the fun.  Thanks to all those that provided entertainment and displays.

Everyone had fun and just over £500 profit was made.
