Dear Parents and Carers

We are now finally at the end of term and I would like to take this opportunity to thank lots of people!

I would like to thank members of our staff who are retiring, for their hard work and commitment to Burton End. Geraldine Guinivan is retiring after over 30 years service – she began as a ‘dinner lady’ and finished her career here as a Learning Support Assistant in year 3. Isobel Orriss is taking early retirement after working here for 19 years, firstly as a Teaching Assistant and most recently as our Librarian. Thank you so much ladies – we wish you all the best for the future.

Thanks also must go to others who are leaving. Thank you to Claire Buckle and to Clare Skinner for their work as Phase Leaders over the last few years. Thank you to Mrs Smith for her work as class teacher and literacy co-ordinator. We wish you all well in the next stage of you career. Thank you to both Rebecca Loveridge and Diana Andre for the commitment they have both shown to Burton End. Not only have they worked as Learning Support Assistants but they have both been school governors. As Mrs Loveridge is moving into teaching and Mrs Andre is moving into nursery management, we wish them all the best for the future.

Thank you also to all our delightful children who have worked so hard over the last year, as well as to their parents and carers. You all really deserve a restful and enjoyable summer holiday.

Yours faithfully

Madeline Vosper

Acting Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all those who have completed their parent report reply slips.  There is still time for you to return them to the office if you have not already done so.

Another successful event from the Friends of Burton End!

A great time was had by all last Saturday at the Summer Fair despite the inclement weather.

Staff and parents all worked hard to make sure the showery weather did not stop the fair taking place.  Some stalls were moved inside to the hall while other events took place outside.  Thank you so much to all who came and shared in the fun.  Thanks to all those that provided entertainment and displays.

Everyone had fun and just over £500 profit was made.

Dear Parents and Carers

As many of you know I have now taken up the post of Acting Head Teacher following the retirement of Ms Trussler. Towards the end of June Ms Trussler will be coming into school for a special assembly with the children to collect her retirement gift and a book containing good luck messages from all the children and staff. We are all looking forward to seeing her rested and refreshed.
