Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all those who have completed their parent report reply slips.  There is still time for you to return them to the office if you have not already done so.

It was with mixed feelings that we said goodbye to our Year 6 children last Friday.  It is always sad for teachers to see children they have come to know so well leave primary school as they have become such a part of the school.  However, as I stated in Friday's assembly Primary School is just one part in the learnng jounrney that your children are on.  We feel that the outgoing Year 6 have made a great contribution to school life and they are fully equipped to move onto the next stage of their journey.  We all wish them great success for the future.

In many ways, now that we are in  partnership with Castle Manor Academy, the year 6 pupils have not really left us.  We are all part of the same 'all through education' family, and as such we are looking forward to joining with both Place Farm and Castle Manor pupils on Wednesday, to celebrate.  All children, from reception up to year 5 will be going to the Castle Manor sports field to be part of an ariel photograph.  Please ensure that your child brings their green sweatshirt or cardigan that day, even if it is hot, so that they can wear it for the photograph.  We will ensure that each child has a drink and does not overheat! If it rains the event will be postponed.

Regards

Another successful event from the Friends of Burton End!

A great time was had by all last Saturday at the Summer Fair despite the inclement weather.

Staff and parents all worked hard to make sure the showery weather did not stop the fair taking place.  Some stalls were moved inside to the hall while other events took place outside.  Thank you so much to all who came and shared in the fun.  Thanks to all those that provided entertainment and displays.

Everyone had fun and just over £500 profit was made.

Dear Parents and Carers

As many of you know I have now taken up the post of Acting Head Teacher following the retirement of Ms Trussler. Towards the end of June Ms Trussler will be coming into school for a special assembly with the children to collect her retirement gift and a book containing good luck messages from all the children and staff. We are all looking forward to seeing her rested and refreshed.
